The reason why drift is on the program at SpaAsia? Very simple: the discipline, which has since spread worldwide, was created in… Japan! More specifically in the hilly suburbs, where enthusiasts could fully let go during illegal street races in the 1980s. At the end of that decade, drift also officially appeared on several circuits for the first time, where spectators were quickly impressed.
