As from its second edition, to be held on Sunday 10th September, SpaAsia will be raising the bar even higher: not only more cars and motorcycles emanating from Asia, but also more entertainment! And above all, shows that have no chance of leaving the public indifferent. A perfect example: the Globe of Death!
What motorsport enthusiast hasn’t, as a child, had the chance of looking wide-eyed at the sight of motorcycles speeding and skimming past one another at breakneck speeds … in a dome? A common sight at fairs, and one that some have taken great pleasure in developing even more. Such is the case of the Infernal Varanne Riders, led by Danny Varanne. Their daily routine consists of several riders locking themselves in a globe, and intersecting one another! Breathtaking …
In 2011, for the Italian TV channel Canale 5, the Varanne Riders officially set a new world record, with five riders performing in a 4,83 metres globe… in addition of one person standing, for some ten seconds! A precision exercise, with no room for error. And as a bonus, an official recognition by the Guinness Book of Records. Since then, others have done better, but without respecting the same rules. The Infernal Varanne Riders have made it quite clear: they remain the masters of the Globe of Death!
And these all-out Riders will be visiting the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday 10th September, to add a touch of madness to SpaAsia #2! Riding their Honda CRF 125 (keeping to the theme!), Danny Varanne’s troupe will be pushing the boundaries further, to the delight of all thrill seekers.
